In Europe, two members of Camfil Farr’s management have taken the position of Chairman within Eurovent*, the European Committee of Air Handling and Refrigeration Equipment Industries.
Certification Programs and Policy Commission
Ander Freyschuss, Managing Director of Camfil Farr’s Swedish company, Camfil Svenska AB, also Head of Camfil Farr’s business in the Nordic countries, has been elected Chairman of Eurovent’s Certification Programs and Policy Commission (CPPC) for the next two years. The 22-member CPCC includes professionals from the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, end users, laboratories and government agencies.
The CPPC is the highest body within Eurovent’s certification system for all ventilation-related products. Eurovent currently runs 18 different programs for the certification of products and approximately 200 companies are involved with their products, including Camfil Farr. Product groups range from air filters, air handling units and chillers, to heat pumps, fan coil units, cooling towers and split units, among other equipment.
The Eurovent certification programs monitored by the CPPC aim to secure the quality of products sold in the European market by certifying their performance.
Product certification provides clear benefits for the selection of products and their performance, ensuring that end users purchase products and equipment that will operate in accordance with design specifications and energy ratings. The Eurovent Certification programs also create a common platform for competition on equal terms based on comparable data.
Working Group PG4B
Jan Andersson, Marketing Manager for Camfil Farr’s Swedish company, Camfil Svenska AB – also European Product Manager for Camfil Farr’s comfort air filter business – has been re-elected Chairman of PG4B, Eurovent’s working group for air filtration products for another two years.
The Eurovent organization currently has 15 working groups for HVAC products. The working group for air filter products, PG4B, consists of eight air filter manufacturers in addition to Camfil Farr, four laboratories. The group focuses on improving air filter test methods and compares different filter media to improve indoor air quality and energy savings. The results of their research and test findings are used as input for establishing new European standards for air filter products.
Jan Andersson was first elected Chairman of PG4B in 2008, succeeding retiring PG4B Chairman Jan Gustavsson, also former Head of R&D at Camfil Farr.
During the past three years, PG4B has focused on developing the Eurovent Energy Efficiency Classification Program for air filters and improving laboratory methods to test and rate air filter performance.
